It would be good if a RapidBoard owner could mark a Version as Done so that it doesn't show up anymore. Or, you could trigger hiding the version based on its release status. There is no value on a planning board to show old versions.

Basically, I'm asking for the same ability you have to mark an epic as done for versions.

[JSWSERVER-9116] Mark a version as Done in the Plan Board

You should be able to resolve the issue. I don't work for Atlassian so I can't

Thanks, Moriah. This does work. I'm pretty sure I tried this and it didn't work but we just upgraded the GreenHopper plugin so maybe this was addressed in the latest plugin.

If I understand your request correctly, this is already possible. You have to do it inside JIRA though.

Go to the Project page for your JIRA project then: Administration>Versions (you need Project Admin permissions to see this)

If you hover over a version, a cog will appear on the right, click it and choose "Release". This removes the release from the Agile (Rapid) board.
