Have the ability to see the average velocity per period of time in Velocity chart

      Hi everyone,

      I’m pleased to tell you that the updated Velocity Report page, coming soon in Jira 8.9, will include this highly-requested suggestion.

      In the new Velocity Report page you will be able to choose any date range that you’re interested in. The report will calculate the average velocity of all sprints completed within the chosen period of time and display it both over the table and in the chart itself. There will be also a slider under the chart - you can use it to quickly adjust the selection and see how these changes affect the calculated average.

      As per the thread here, users would like to have the ability to see what their average velocity is, per day or week, to improve how many story points they should commit to in the next sprint duration.
