Error message unclear when creating a Project and Board on Getting Started Page without Browse Project Permission

XMLWordPrintable

    • Type: Bug
    • Resolution: Won't Fix
    • Priority: Low
    • None
    • Affects Version/s: 6.1.3.1
    • Component/s: AgileBoard
    • 6.01

      Steps to Reproduce
      1. Remove all groups from Browse Project Permission in Default Permissions Scheme
      2. Create a new project in JIRA in Administration > Projects (should be successful)
      3. Navigate to GreenHopper Getting started page
      4. Click on Create a new project and board
      Expected Result
      1. Expected project to be created but unable to view
      Actual Result
      1. Project cannot be created with error message: "You must have the Browse permission in the default permission scheme in order to create a project through Greenhopper"

The project should be able to be created, but should not be viewable without the group added to the Browse Project permission in the Default Permission Scheme. JIRA allows this because when projects are created, they do not redirect to the project.

This is a minor issue, but the error message is a little confusing.
