Jira by itself has become quite useless once we switched our projects over to the Simplified workflow since issues that are resolved and closed now don't have resolutions anymore. The solution of manually changing the workflow to contain resolutions is not a good workaround since this means we lose the flexibility of the simplified workflows. Instead there should be an option to configure the resolutions of final states. Resolved => resolution = resolved
Closed => resolution = closed
This would even open up the possibility to introduce new final states like
Rejected
Duplicate
Irrelevant
all could have a resolution matching the status that way Jira recognizes resolved issues as such and graphs like the created vs resolved and others work correctly again. Also the strike through of an issue that is completed would work again.
