Task board drag & drop broken in JIRA 5.1

      Drag & drop issues/cards in GreenHopper taskboard is broken (the process keeps spinning) with JIRA 5.1.

      Atlassian Status as at July 10 2012

      We are actively working on this issue and expect to have a fix for the next release to OnDemand which is due to happen this weekend (i.e by Monday 16th of July)

      Workarounds

      Several workarounds are available. Pick the one that suits you best.

      • Submit a support request and and an engineer will upgrade GreenHopper on your OnDemand instance to a fixed version.
      • Perform the transition 'manually' using the JIRA view.
      • Use keyboard shortcuts as described in the comments.

            Workaround using keyboard shortcuts

            1. Click on the issue you want to transition
            2. Press '.' on your keyboard
            3. In the resulting screen enter the transition through which you want to push your issue

              For example, in the default JIRA workflow to move an issue from 'To Do' to 'In Progress' you will need to enter 'Start Progress' as this will transition between the statuses mapped to those columns.
            4. Hit 'Enter' on your keyboard, this will transition the issue and move it to the desired column.

            To figure out which transition you'll need to push the issue through you need to check out your task board mappings and then compare that to your JIRA workflow.
