Description
Situation:
When using the GreenHopper task board in Compact/Kanban mode, trying to release from the gear menu in the Done column the following error message appears: "Error - No editable Issues matching the column mapping were found."
Explanation:
Under the Done column of the GH Task Board is showing issues with workflow step Closed, but Closed issues by default are not editable.
Resolution:
Follow the instruction on Allow editing of Closed Issues to fix the problem. Basically:
- Go to Administration > Workflows
- Create a draft for the workflow
- Select View properties of the Closed step
- Remove the jira.issue.editable property configured there
Bug:
That works, however even with the default workflow selected it is possible to release from the planning board. I'm not sure what the planning board does differently compared to the task board, but for some reason it is able to perform the release.
The Release works fine in the Planning Board, but in the Task Board when using Kanban you are greeted with the Error message, so you are not able to perform the release.
Workaround
change your workflow and Task Board Mapping to ensure the Done column is not "Closed" but simply "Resolved". That way you can use the Release mechanism.
