CFD Cumulative Flow Diagram - add visual forecast with variable based

    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      As project manager (waterfall and agile) who is using heavily CFD for :

      • monitor output
      • forecast % delivery

      please, will need be added visual forecast , as same as in most of burndown chart

      see below mockup proposal.

      1. in Chart Board, add an option "Forecast base"
      2. For each status, allow to choose between :

      • last 24h,
      • last 48h,
      • last 72h,
      • last 5 days,
      • since Sprint Start
        (bonus : from a specific date)
        Common requirement : all of them excluding week-end, and non-working days

      3. At end of line, display % forecast based on current total

      Benefits :

      • For reporting and live review with stakeholder,
        be able to visualize and tell
        "all right, with current velocity of current team, and assuming we freeze right now request for current period, we will likely
      • deliver X %
      • Y % will be done but to review and closed only next Sprint
      • Z % will be pushed for next sprint

      To minimize Y % , team will need more ...
      To minimize Z %, we need more support from ..."

            This is sad...considering that there are plugins that actually provide this functionality.

            The fact that you're basing your decision on a lack of votes, and not your own Product Management knowledge of the market as a whole is indicative of the disconnectedness of Atlassian for what's truly needed in the market.
