Diff text search processes newline characters incorrectly

See attached repository. It has a file with three lines:

test string
with semicolon;
another line;

Searching diffs for "with semicolon" or "test string" produces no results.
This seems to be caused by not handling newline as a token separator, causing the two lines to get concatenated in the index
