View Directory : Group label is not associated with the checkboxes

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

The group label is not associated with its checkboxes. The group-level label helps to completely convey the purpose of individual checkboxes in the group.

      1. Group Name: Microsoft Active Directory

      2. Location of the element: This appears as a group label for the checkbox elements (Active & Cache enabled)

      3. The problem that it causes: People who are blind cannot determine the relationship between the individual labels, that are present within a group if there is no group label association is provided for the radio buttons.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Step 1

      Actual Results

No grouping is announced for the checkboxes such as "Active" and "Cache Enabled" when navigated with the screen reader turned on.

      Expected Results

Form controls such as checkboxes should be grouped together and associated with their respective instruction in the source code. This will enable screen reader users to interact with such form controls effectively.
Include the instruction text "Manage Directories" within the hidden <legend> element. Use the <fieldset>and <legend> elements to group the instruction text.
