authenticateWithoutValidatingPassword is not assigning the default groups

authenticate(javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest request, javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse response, java.lang.String username, java.lang.String password)

correctly publishes the UserAuthenticatedEvent which triggers certain things, such as the adding of default group memberships for the directory.

authenticateWithoutValidatingPassword does not seem to do this.
