    Description

Currently Crowd offers in-memory LDAP caching for:

      • Active Directory
      • Apache DS 1.5.x

It would be very useful to be able to cache LDAP data, for all LDAP directories. Also, rather than caching in-memory, it would be beneficial to cache the data in the database so that:

      • all queries hit the database (only authentication, synchronisation and mutation calls go to LDAP)
      • all data is available when Crowd starts up (as opposed to lazy caching)

The user should be able to synchronise the cache with LDAP by manually clicking a button to synchronise and should also be able to set a polling interval for automatic periodic synchronisation.
