Updating aliases with a mix of valid/invalid update can cause strange behaviour

When updating aliases for multiple applications at once, if there is 1+ invalid update it causes some problems.
eg.
If invalid alias is first application, aliases after that will not be updated.
If invalid alias is the last application, aliases before that will be updated, but the update is not evident until user refershes the page.
