when creating a new connector, nested groups checkbox doesn't stay checked

Every time I've gone to create a new connector in 1.6.1, I've checked the checkbox to use nested groups. However, when I click the Continue button, and it takes me back to the Details screen, if I click back onto the Connector tab, it shows Nested Groups as unchecked. If I then check it again, and click on Update, it will accept it and keep it.
