We are using Crowd with Confluence. Confluence has UI where user can search for groups using wildcards eg: "atla*". This doesn't work with Crowd.

See CrowdEntityQueryParser.class method SearchResult findGroups(Query query). Only one group is returned if it matches the search string. The wildcard part of query is ignored.
