Jive Software has recently discontinued Forums Silver, and Forums Gold costs $25,000 per CPU, which is a bit out of our price range. We were hoping to use Crowd's Jive integration to have a forum with SSO, but it appears we're now out of luck. Furthermore, Jive is trying to sell us Clearspace instead, but since we already have Jira and Confluence, that seems like a redundant bit of functionality. I can't imagine we're the only Atlassian shop in this boat. It would be really great for us if Crowd would integrate with some forum software other than Jive Forums.

JForum appears to be doing the job.

The Codegeist JForum plugin seems to work well for what it does - namely, allowing centralized authentication through Crowd in JForum. It would be nicer if it would also provide SSO through Seraph, but we can probably live without that.

In general, JForum seems like an OK forum solution. It's not as featureful as Jive Forums is, but it seems like it has the basic functionality we want. The only somewhat worrisome thing, from my perspective, is that development on JForum seems to have completely stopped since the author has decided to completely rewrite it from scratch.

            Hi Nat,

How've you gotten on with JForum? Has it met your needs? Any feedback we can pass onto other users?

            Cheers,
            Dave.
