Tool for replicating Prod to a lower Environment

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      In Confluence we have our Create a staging environment for upgrading Confluence documentation, which details the steps to replicate a Production environment to a lower environment.

      Upgrades need to be tested, and sometimes several tests are needed. It would be great to have a new embedded Feature in Confluence, a tool or scripts to help alleviate the work needed for that, including the steps for the DB in the above documentation.

      As an example, a new feature from the UI could help to configure Confluence once it is migrated. A tool could help export and then import the config with new values already set for a lower environment.

      EDIT: Also it would be great to have to option to mask certain information in case it is needed to protect some information in Prod.
