Issue Summary
When SSO is enabled in Confluence, the invitation link to signup users doesn't work.
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
Steps to Reproduce (Upgrading Confluence):
In Confluence v8.5.5:
- Add Crowd as an external directory with read/write access.
- Set priority to the Crowd directory in the directory list.
- Enable SSO Logins in Confluence, using Crowd as the IDP.
- Use the Invitation Link (from the Invite Users) tab and sign up for users.
Expected Results
The user account must be created in the Crowd directory.
Actual Results
- No user accounts are created.
- After the signup form is filled and the request is submitted, Confluence navigates back to the login page.
- Below are the logs written to the application logs.
2024-06-06 16:18:26,377 WARN [http-nio-8090-exec-23 url: /confluence/dosignup.action] [web.filter.authentication.AuthenticationFilter] doFilterInternal POST method is not supported, thus sending '303 See Other' redirect -- url: /confluence/dosignup.action | userName: anonymous | referer: https://linux-73000.prod.atl-cd.net/confluence/signup.action?token=38744fa3281eee96&native_login= | traceId: 126508b4a076119a
Workaround
- Enable the 'Allow people to signup to create their account' option under the User Signup tab. This allows us to sign up users with SSO enabled.
- As per the document Add and Invite Users, the option to send invitations is independent of the signup options. This doesn't seem to be the case when SSO is enabled.
