Issue Summary

When SSO is enabled in Confluence, the invitation link to signup users doesn't work.

This is reproducible on Data Center: yes

      Steps to Reproduce (Upgrading Confluence):

      In Confluence v8.5.5:

      1. Add Crowd as an external directory with read/write access.
      2. Set priority to the Crowd directory in the directory list.
      3. Enable SSO Logins in Confluence, using Crowd as the IDP.
      4. Use the Invitation Link (from the Invite Users) tab and sign up for users.

      Expected Results

The user account must be created in the Crowd directory.

      Actual Results

      • No user accounts are created.
      • After the signup form is filled and the request is submitted, Confluence navigates back to the login page.
      • Below are the logs written to the application logs.
        • 2024-06-06 16:18:26,377 WARN [http-nio-8090-exec-23 url: /confluence/dosignup.action] [web.filter.authentication.AuthenticationFilter] doFilterInternal POST method is not supported, thus sending '303 See Other' redirect

      Workaround

      • Enable the 'Allow people to signup to create their account' option under the User Signup tab. This allows us to sign up users with SSO enabled.
      • As per the document Add and Invite Users, the option to send invitations is independent of the signup options. This doesn't seem to be the case when SSO is enabled.
