Confluence Widget Connector Fails to Display Twitter Content After Domain Change

      Problem

      After Twitter's domain transition from twitter.com to x.com, the Confluence widget connector can no longer display Twitter content.

      Environment

      Confluence DC

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a test page
      2. From the editor toolbar, choose Insert > Other Macros.
      3. Choose Widget Connector from the Media category.
      4. Enter the URL you want to display. Below is the test example:
      5. Choose Insert.

      Expected Results

      Twitter content should be displayed as per https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/widget-connector-macro-171180449.html

      Actual Results

      The widget macro failed to display the content from x.com

      Workaround

      There is no workaround available

      Notes

      • Hard coding of '*.twitter.com' found in TwitterRenderer.java and twitter.ts.
      • When you test in Confluence 8.5, please simply disable the allowlist.
