Issue Summary
Upgrading from 7.18 to 8.0 breaks any existing template that uses variables. Upon page creation from the template there is no option to input the variables before saving the page.
This is reproducible on Data Center: (yes)
Steps to Reproduce
- Using Confluence 7.18 (potentially other versions)
- Create a template (Template A) with variable/s
- Create a page from the template to confirm you are prompted to enter text input for the variables before saving/editing the page.
- Upgrade to 8.03
- Create a page using the existing Template A
- Notice there is no option to input variable text
- The template creation still shows the intermediate step where you should enter the variables before clicking Next to create the actual page. But there is no text field or input available to enter the variables.
It's also not possible to edit the existing Template A and add or edit variables. You can edit the template but you get the same results when creating a page, there is no option to input the variables.
Expected Results
After upgrading the templates behave the same and allow for variable input during page creation from template.
Actual Results
It's not possible to create a page from templates with variables as there is no input field when creating the page.
Workaround
Recreating the template from scratch is currently the only known workaround.
