Problem
When installing Confluence 8+, logs are partially being sent to the catalina.out file and partially. to atlassian-confluence.log file.
If you go to Logging and Profiling and change loglevel to diagnostic, logs will be totally sent to catalina.out file, even if you revert back to Prroduction.
Environment
.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install Confluence 8.1
- check the log files (catalina.out and atlassian-confluence.log)
- Go to Logging and Profilling and change the loglevel to Diagnostic
- Check the logs again
- Go to Logging and Profilling and change the loglevel to Production
- Check the logs again
Expected Results
When starting Confluence or changing log levels, the application logs should be recorded in the atlassian-confluence.log file.
Actual Results
Logs are partially in atlassian-confluence.log file and partially in catalina.out file, if you change the loglevel, everything is sent to the catalina.out file.
Workaround
Track the Catalina logs for application-related errors.
