When a page is copied, there is a tick-box, which says "Include attached files and images". It is ticked on default.

Our users LOVE Confluence for meeting notes. And they also love to copy the page from the previous week/day/month for this purpose. And some if not many of these users do not uncheck the box. This lead to some pages having 800  attachments. We have currently 1.4TB in attachments.

It would be really helpful, if I can set this on disabled by default in the admin-settings.

We are facing exactly same problem as described. We have space having more than 400.000 attachments! Most files are stored on meeting notes copied with attachments for years...

Don't expect users to ever consider the impact of copying attachments from a page to another page. Even if most of the files are no longer needed.
