"Unsynced from Directory" feature doesn't annonymyze user content in edit mode
Steps to Reproduce
- Integrate Confluence with any version of Crowd
- Add two users to Crowd user group:
UserA - use normal characters in first/lastname fields
UserB - use special characters in first/lastname fields - Synchronise crowd directory with Confluence
- Create new page. Add user mention to UserA, UserB user accounts
- Navigate to Crowd. Remove UserA, UserB accounts from directory
- Navigate to Confluence administration -> User Management -> Unsynced from Directory -> delete UserA and UserB content
- Navigate to page which contains previously created user mentions. Check if user names are correctly annonymyzed by "Unsynced from Directory" feature
- Enter page edit mode. Check if user names display Check if user names are correctly annonymyzed by "Unsynced from Directory" feature
Expected Results
Actual Results
- User names in the edit mode are not annonymyzed:
- User accounts containing special characters in first/last names are not annonyzed on page view mode (
only Confluence 7.4.5, this case doesn't affect Confluence 7.8 version and newer)
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available

I'd expect running Synchrony data eviction (hard) job to anonymize users.
