NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
This is a feature request to add the option to modify the content of the sidebar globally, as the user can do inside the space administration option for Confluence.
When using the Default Global theme, in each space through Space Tools > Configure Sidebar, you have the option to change the navigation displayed for the users, by choosing the Navigation Display options, Shortcuts and content to be displayed. This could be applied globally, so all the spaces would be using the same configuration.
A situation to be used as example, would be that the user is doing a transition from the Documentation Theme to the new Default theme, but, the Child Pages option in the sidebar will still be needed.
This request could be related to the current plans for new Confluence versions, as this Task to remove the Documentation theme.
