NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
NOTE: You can now un-subscribe yourself from Atlassian Answers notifications.
Simply click the "Un-subscribe from all notifications" link that appears in the email footer of all emails that are now sent from Answers.
Some users may find that clicking the link results in a system error message - even though this happens, the unsubscribe request should still have been processed successfully.
-------
The old Atlassian Answers had a number of fine-grained notification options that allowed users to control which emails they received from the system.
Many users were able to completely de-activate any emails from being sent, even though technically they were probably subscribed to a bunch of questions or topics.
When we migrated Answers to Confluence Questions, these notification controls were lost, but each user's subscriptions were kept intact. Now, many users have started receiving emails that they do not want to get.
We are planning to build a self-service unsubscribe option into Confluence Questions itself (see [CQ-1334]). However, this may take some time to implement, and many users want a solution immediately.
As an interim measure, let's create a process for Atlassian staff to manually un-subscribe users from all emails if they request it.
