We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
NOTE: You can now un-subscribe yourself from Atlassian Answers notifications.
Simply click the "Un-subscribe from all notifications" link that appears in the email footer of all emails that are now sent from Answers.
Some users may find that clicking the link results in a system error message - even though this happens, the unsubscribe request should still have been processed successfully.
-------
The old Atlassian Answers had a number of fine-grained notification options that allowed users to control which emails they received from the system.
Many users were able to completely de-activate any emails from being sent, even though technically they were probably subscribed to a bunch of questions or topics.
When we migrated Answers to Confluence Questions, these notification controls were lost, but each user's subscriptions were kept intact. Now, many users have started receiving emails that they do not want to get.
We are planning to build a self-service unsubscribe option into Confluence Questions itself (see [CQ-1334]). However, this may take some time to implement, and many users want a solution immediately.
As an interim measure, let's create a process for Atlassian staff to manually un-subscribe users from all emails if they request it.

[CONFSERVER-51780] Un-subscribe users from all emails from Atlassian Answers if they have requested it
Tried to click that "un-subscribe from all" about 4 times yesterday, got the server outage page at least once (other requests just trailed into nothingness). Got a new notification today. This notification didn't even have the "unsubscribe from all" link.
Given that I've never used answers.atlassian.com, I'm a bit surprised that my settings indicated I wanted any kind of notifications. All I've done is to sign up for an Atlassian ID to register SourceTree...
Everyone who commented has been unsubscribed.
For all future users who wish to un-subscribe from Answers notification emails, there is now a self-service option.
Simply click the "Un-subscribe from all notifications" link that appears in the email footer of all emails that are now sent from Answers.
Some users may find that clicking the link results in a system error message - even though this happens, the unsubscribe request should still have been processed successfully.
Please unsubscribe me. I will re-enable notifications after the user options have been implemented. Thanks
Also, there doesn't seem to be any way to cancel an Atlassian account. Please cancel my account completely.
I've unsubscribed everyone who commented up to this point, and now I'm also un-watching you from this JIRA issue.
Sorry for the frustration this has caused.

Atlassian.
While you're at it, could you please change your notification scheme so it doesn't spam all of us whenever someone requests to be unsubscribed?
Please unsubscribe me ASAP. The constant email spam is very annoying.
Please unsubscribe. Unable to find documentation on how/where to unwatch or unsubscribe.
Actually, the darn thing never sent any notifications to me, so I gave up on using it. Please subscribe me.
unsubscribe me please - then fix the unsubscribe for everyone else
Love your products
Please remove Paul.hardcastle@communitylogic.com.au from your email dialogue of posts...
Thx
All new commenters un-subscribed from Answers and un-watched from this issue.
Sorry for the hassle this has caused.
Kind regards,

Hi lordcrc - We had some problems with the "un-subscribe from all" feature over the last 48 hours, which lead to it being periodically disabled. We believe the problems are now all solved and it should work now if you un-subscribe.
