possibly related to "accepting" an answer...I want to be able to close a question so that no more answers can be given.
or when there's a duplicate and you want to close the question and redirect to the "non duplicate" version.

[CONFSERVER-51729] I want to be able to mark a question as closed
I see is an old story, but this function is still missing. Its a really important point for us. To accept an Answer is not stoped the function that some more people can talk still to a question.
I agree Imtiyaz Sayed with wanting to close a question when the answers are finalized and preventing the users from adding further comments on the question. There are some questions where we wouldn't want someone accepting the wrong answer and have other users following the wrong advice.
I think this is an important feature.
You would also want to close a question when the answers are finalized and as a Confluence admin you want to prevent the users from adding further comments on the question.
Hey Jo, yes, I guess that will get fixed in time. A lot of the imported questions are ~2013 and already have answers/comments but then never got accepted or otherwise suffered ThreadDeath, as an addon 'thread' owner Id like to definitely obsolete a bunch, kinda closed but different, almost treating them like issues 
Hi andy11 - sounds like you are referring to CQ-1392 - I'm pretty sure we will be able to fix that up since the images are there, just the links to them are incorrect.
Being able to mark a question as closed is still something we want to consider in the future, regardless of that.
obsoleting questions is related, after the import, some have no images which were the context of the question, without which its hard to do much other than close them, but here is no such feature, sa there was previously.
Need to be able to provide a comment as to why the question is being closed, e.g. duplicate, discussion not a question, etc.
We would also like to use this function.
