TeamCal ICS Caused Multiple Invitations Send After it was Imported

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Background of Request

Team Calendar use the default "Participation Role" which is "Req-Participant" as describe here.

      ATTENDEE;X-CONFLUENCE-USER=phl;CN=Septa Cahyadiputra;CUTYPE=INDIVIDUAL:ma
       ilto:scahyadiputra@atlassian.com

It would be great if we could change the attendee type to chair to avoid such issue. It is not a good practice to allow local calendar app to send invitations to all attendee when TeamCalendar ICS file imported into it as it will create unnecessary notification.

      Workaround

      1. Open your exported ics file to your favourite text editor
      2. Search and replace the following string
        ATTENDEE;

        to

        ATTENDEE;ROLE=CHAIR:
      3. Save As to save it using a different filename to ensure the original is kept intact for safety purposes

            Hi Guys,

            one month later. 1 Month.

            And nothing happened. Why?

The 1st anniversary is over and nothing happened…really sad.

            Cheers

            Hi Son Hoang,

we're running TeamCalendar Version: 4.4.5 . It took 1 year for a response by you (atlassian). In my opinion you should provide a public fix and not a hotfix for us. Our employees know that they can't use this feature at the moment.

            Cheers

Hey Guys, what's wrong with you?

            Why is there still an

            ATTENDEE;X-CONFLUENCE-USER-KEY=

            inside the .ics file?

When you import this to your local Calendar.app every attendee will receive a new invitaion mail...it is funny when you invite someone to their own birthday for example...i dont understand what your problem with thus §"$"§*$ issue is.

Could you explain your point of view to me?

            Cheers
