We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
Add the ability to display Trello boards within confluence by introducing a Trello macro.
It would be good if the board could be dynamic, so that cards can be moved across columns and comments made, all from within Confluence.
[CONFSERVER-45779] Add Trello macro to Confluence so that Trello boards can be displayed within Confluence
Even with Server being EOL'd in 2024, there is no reason for this request to be shelved for Data Center customers.
Perhaps it could be added to the cloud oder Datacenter version?
We too need it for our server installation. What about those customers that transition to Data Center in 2024?
My guess is that this is not going to happen because of the ultimate EOL of all Atlassian server products in 2024.
Come on guys it's been 3 years, I am really disappointed that there is no integration for Trello boards in Confluence server version.
I use trello a lot and im gutted to find that the macro is not available for Confluence server.
I just tried in my server instance, and am gutted it's not there, this would make my life soooooooo much easier!!
Please integrate Trelle as soon as possible to make viewing on Confluence pages
+1, I would love this! It would make tracking action items from trello in confluence a breeze
Any updates on when this will be worked on? Would be super helpful. Macros and templates in server are not generally great, I'd suggest a larger piece of work on making this process more seamless for server users
Hope this integration will be done soon. Our company needs this enhancement because we don't want to move to Cloud, and when you sold this tool we expected this functionality.
I vote for this integration! I expected this to move much faster after the acquisition as it offers more value for a wider set of users. Still nothing for the server (larger share) clients.
We've had many a conversation on which tools to use to help us work in teams across the company. Trello comes up with Asana, Monday, etc. Trello, would be a no brainer if it could integrate. I mean it is the same company... Not doing Atlassian justice here
I can't believe the integration hasn't been dealt with well over a year ago.
To this i say "OOF"
congrats
We use Trello and would love for it to integrate into our Confluence server instance.
Echoing what Candace said, I was also at Summit 2019. I spoke to a respected Atlassian solution partner who revealed that while Atlassian is making a push for orgs to consider Cloud, the portion of users on Cloud is still relatively small (less than 20%). This is attributed to the fact that many large enterprise customers still require Server or Data Center offerings for their security, customizations, and advanced marketplace applications.
The latter echoes my personal experience working for a Fortune 500 organization...there are key Confluence plugins we utilize that are not available on Cloud...yet at least. So for now, we can't consider it.
I suspect it will be years before this is a decision point for us to make. How many years, who knows, but it will be several at least. A few important things need to happen before we and other customers would feel comfortable making that transition. Given Atlassian's "Don't $&%#" the Customer!" value, I will rely on them to uphold that value statement when/if the time arises.
Of course, other software vendors are also looking to make Server to Cloud moves. Do you use Microsoft SharePoint? Microsoft is doing the same thing, offering SharePoint in the cloud as part of O365.
I was at Summit 2019, and spoke to several Atlassian folks who said Server will not be phased out.
Given that the issue is solved on Cloud but only considered for Server - I suppose server is to be phased out in mid term completely? Would be helpful to know as I'm just evaluating altassian products.
VERY disappointed in this comment "We'll typically review this request at least once a year, at which point we’ll consider whether we need to alter its status.". So pretty much this December, this request could be reviewed and pushed off to DEC 2020...
This is an Atlassian product talking to an Atlassian product.. not sure why this one is not a priority.
If the products work well together, more people will pay for Trello.
Thanks for your interest in this issue.
This request is considered a potential addition to our longer-term roadmap.
We understand that many customers use a mix of products which are self hosted and cloud based offerings, and that the integration of those products can be very useful.
We'll typically review this request at least once a year, at which point we’ll consider whether we need to alter its status.
Cheers,
Confluence Product Management
We would also love to see this as an added feature on Server! Please add Trello Boards!
Would certainly make use of this. Disappointing that it's only available for cloud.
Definitely would like to see this implemented on Server! Currently our company uses the two individually, and I would like to see the integration. Due to the inherit sensitivity of Trello boards, an iframe solution for public facing boards and cards would not be feasible.
Please add Trello functionality to Confluence Server. Recently went from Cloud to Server.
Completely agree on this. The current and last two companies I worked for all used Confluence Server and Trello. I was very disappointed to learn that Trello integration won't work on Server.
My company can't use cloud solution due to your solution not FedRamp certified. Please add this tool to the premised version.
My company doesn’t allow cloud solutions, so please add it to Confluence Server.
Yes please. This adds more power and flexibility to the tool, it fills a gap in the functionality offered.
Please, please add this. The only viable work around at the moment requires your board to be public and that's just not an option.
+1 for the Trello Macro being ported to on-prem server. As mentioned by many others, it would also be a sound business move for Atlassian to increase adoption of their expensive investment!
+1
This would be key functionality for our organisation (50+ personnel and growing) to consider adopting this as a company-wide solution.
My company used to use the cloud version of Confluence: just long enough that many of my peers became very attached to the Confluence/Trello integration. Six months after we moved to self-hosted, I still receive questions about if we are getting that integration back.
You'd be making a lot of people very happy by supporting this on both cloud and server instances!
This exists in cloud, so presumably there's some code somewhere in Atlassian that wouldn't take that much effort to re-use - this would be a great addition, especially as they're both Atlassian products!
@Tom Crespi, thank you for your reply. I agree with your points, it would really be a win-win for all involved, users and Atlassian overall. You'd think it would be worth the dev time to connect products that are owned by the same company. Would pull customers from one platform to the other in both directions, no?
We have yet to find an alternative, potentially utilizing some macros to manually embed the boards in confluence. Looks like a combination of high level permissions manipulations that are beyond my networking abilities along with confluence macros MIGHT do the trick... One blogger got at least part way there and posted just a couple weeks ago: https://mraddon.blog/2018/05/02/see-trello-board-in-confluence/
Here's to hoping for some traction on this! Cheers!
Hi everyone!
My name is Charlie and I work in Confluence Data Center.
We are looking to chat with customers who regularly use Confluence Data Center or Server in a non-admin capacity (creating or reviewing pages and blogs etc.) to meet with us 1:1 for one hour to help inform our upcoming product roadmap.
We will be running these sessions in June 2023. If any of your team or colleagues are interested in participating, please reach out to confluence-research@atlassian.com
.
Thank you so much for helping us continue to improve and deliver value to the Confluence community!
