Use of Templates in Blog Posts

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      We are interested in having the ability to use templates in news/blog posts in a similar manner as using a template when creating a new page in Confluence.

      In our Confluence install, our users will be using news space for a single purpose and it would be greatly helpful if they had a same look, thereby utilizing the same template.

      While this suggestion has gathered significant interest, we're unable to implement all of the excellent suggestions you make. We appreciate the benefits of such requests, but don't plan to work on this for the foreseeable future.

      This suggestion will be reviewed in about 12 months time, at which point we’ll consider whether we need to alter its status.

            I'm excited to share some great news with you all! My name is Ben, and I'm part of the team working on enhancing the Confluence Data Center experience. We have been listening to your feedback and are thrilled to announce the ability to use templates in blog posts, starting in Confluence 9.3. Similar to how this works in Confluence Cloud, you’ll be able to create Confluence pages using templates, and convert these pages to blog posts.

            How to use a template in your blog posts:

            1. Create a new page using your desired template.
            2. Once your page is published, use the "Convert to blog post" option to turn your page into a blog post with your desired template.

            We will close this ticket for now, as we believe the workaround provided will unblock your workflow, and we are pleased with the overall experience it offers.

            We appreciate your patience and continued feedback as we work to improve Confluence Data Center. Please keep your suggestions coming!
