Extra whitespace was created in table while using IE 11

Steps to replicate

1. install confluence 5.9.4
2. create a new page with new empty table
3. Save the page
4. Edit
   Expected Behavior
   The table should not contain any whitespace

Actual Behavior
Whitespace was created inside the column
