Export to Word does not render checkboxes

If I use the Task List button to create a checkbox in a Confluence page and then choose Export to Word under tools, the check box comes out as a bullet in the resulting Word doc. Export to PDF shows it correctly, including whether or not it was checked. At least in Chrome, printing the webpage raw (which is probably not the preferred option) also does not show the checkbox.
