Summary

It is not possible to hide the license banner that announces the end of support.

      Expected behaviour

Clicking "remind me later" or "never remind me again" should hide the banner.

      Actual behaviour

After clicking "remind me later" or "never remind me again", the banner disappears but it will come back after a page reload or browsing another Confluence page. Also, a warning message is printed to atlassian-confluence.log:

      2015-12-28 13:46:23,847 WARN [http-nio-8090-exec-11] [common.security.jersey.XsrfResourceFilter] passesAllXsrfChecks XSRF checks failed for request: https://<confluence_url_here>/rest/licensebanner/1.0/reminder/never , origin: null , referrer: https://<confluence_url_here>/

        3. Enter Confluence License Banner in the text field
        4. Open Confluence License Banner and click Disable
          or
      • Buy a new licence

Thanks for both of those tips. I found I have blocked it as well using the element picker in uBlock Origin, thanks Nils for your tip. I would not have looked in the addon section, thanks for that Hendrik. I think I will do that, as that will be permanent for all administrators.

Sad we have to resolve to do such things.

I have disabled the system addon "Confluence License Banner" until the new license arrives. Hoping, that this does not break anything...

Same here latest confluence 5.9.4. Nice to know that annoying all your loyal customers with a message seen daily for a couple months is minor. Technically speaking minor, user loyal confluence user annoyance level MAJOR!. I don't like paying thousands of dollars for a solution that annoys me everyday for months on end. That is why windows 10 didn't get adopted very quickly if you need a nice use case for fixing this.

Also effects 5.9.4. Other XSRF protected things work, and this is extremely annoying. Is there a way to disable it in the database as a workaround?

not taking issues like this seriously and data-lock-in are two reasons we're moving away from Confluence.

This should indeed be solved as soon as possible.

how is having a yellow banner stuck at the top of every page taking up 10% of the page real estate a minor bug?
