Single page XML export should not export blogs and their attachments

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Description

When performing a single page XML export (not the entire Space, just a single page), if there are any Blogs in that Space, the Blogs get exported in addition to the page you are trying to export. If there are attachments in these Blogs, those also get exported.

      Suggestion

It should be possible to opt out of exporting all Blogs when trying to export a single page. In some cases, there may be dozens of Blogs and many gigabytes of attachments. Instead of getting a small file with the single page export, you can end up with a massive, multi-gigabyte export.

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Perform an XML export of a single page in a Space that has Blogs with attachments.
      2. Download the exported page export and then import into a different Confluence instance and observe that the page is imported along with all Blogs in the space as well as the attachments.
