View File Macro "file could not be accessed" Error

Problem

The "Edit Document" button sends the full URL of the attached Office document to Excel (or Word or PowerPoint), which can not open the URL because it is too long.

Fix

Unfortunately there is none yet.

Workaround

As a workaround, I was able to access the document by moving it up the page hierarchy and access it using the page parameter of viewfile.

While this is likely a WebDav or Office issue, it could possibly be resolved by using a tiny URL, rather than sending the entire URL to the Office application.
