NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

A word document is different when on page and inside microsoft word.
Please see attached "printscreen1" and "printscreen2" for detail.
Steps to reproduce(You may use the attached document to reproduce):
      1. Attach the Word document to the page.
      2. Use "Office Word" view macro to display the Word document.
      3. Extra underlines are shown on the page(the 1st paragraph of the document)

      Please advise for this inconsistency.

One more question, when I am viewing the word document. Can I adjust the viewdoc macro so that it only presents the first page of the document? Because it will make the page a very long page if I have 30 pages for that document.

      Please advise

            Try adding this style.
Can be added to your site Custom HTML, or within {style} or {html} on your page, or in the space stylesheet or space theme.

<!-- Disable underline for viewdoc macro -->
            <style> .office-container a:hover { text-decoration: none; }  </style>

Well the resolution is not "Fixed" then, is it?

            Dear all,

Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on bugs with a higher impact, and more votes.
Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog for some time now with very little movement.
I'm going to close this to set expectations so the issue doesn't stay open for years with few updates. If demand for this picks up, we will reopen the issue.

            Thanks,
            Minh Tran

We have the same problem. Clearing the formatting is not realistic for us, since we work a lot with the feature. Do you have a roadmap or other work around for this?

To workaround this issue, please try the following steps

            1. Open the document on Word
            2. Please "Ctrl A" and copy/paste the content into your preferred text editor (notepad/notepad++ or any text editor). The reason to do this is to clear the formatting when you copy/paste it next.
            3. Open a new word document
            4. Paste the content from the notepad
            5. Do re-formatting or styling if necessary
            6. Save
            7. Re-attach into Confluence and see if the problem persist
