Summary

URLs with apostrophes/quotes do not create valid links when added via Insert Link

Environment

Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox

Steps to Reproduce

1. Click Insert Link
2. Select Web link
3. Add address https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Confluence+will+not+start+up+because+the+build+number+in+the+home+directory+doesn't+match+the+build+number+in+the+database%2C+after+upgrade
4. Add link any text
5. Click Insert
6. Save the page

Expected Results

Text becomes a hyperlink

Actual Results

The link doesn't work and the storage format HTML appears as

<p><a>this is a link</a></p>

Workaround

1. Copy a correct URL encoded version of the URL from the page, or via a link to the page
2. Edit the page and replace the original URL with the encoded URL
3. Save the page
