I would like the ability to indent text (that is not in a list) using a keyboard shortcut.

I'm not sure what time frame the foreseeable future is and since it is not possible to vote on closed requests, it seems difficult to gauge the demand for this feature.

As such, I've created a new ticket for this request.

so this still doesn't work? BS!

I'd also very much like to see this implemented. It is a frequent frustration and a productivity impediment.

Yeah this sort of thing is what keeps Confluence Garbagey.  To hell with the basic features found in Word or google docs... and let's leave MS Word import remain broken... as time wears on I struggle to see what Confluence does anymore that's impressive.  All it is, is that we adopted it over other "harder-to-use" wiki-based options a long time ago, and now we're married to it.  It doesn't ever seem to improve.

We could really use a keyboard shortcut for increasing and decreasing indentation.

Indentation is a very common activity lately and involving the mouse every time a (non automatic) indent must be performed, causing real frustration:

            1. Right hand leaves its current (ideal) keyboard position on the keyboard in order to grab the mouse
            2. New users must first search the toolbar to find the indentation command buttons. Experienced users must first confirm the location of the indentation command buttons
            3. The mouse pointer must be moved (usually more than half a screen, away from the current relevant text) to the indentation button
            4. If additional indentation operations need to be performed, another frustrating alternation between text selection, typing and mouse actions follow
            5. Even proficient typists must then re-align the right hand on the keyboard to continue typing. Laymen keyboard users experience a slightly different but similar level of frustration switching back to the keyboard

The steps are very explicit and may be interpreted as exaggeration by some, but they aim to address the corresponding level of generalization (or even apathy).

            Please revisit this request.

            Thanks.

I struggle in meetings to format minutes text in a readable way.  I now effectively take notes on the Confluence page during the meeting then have to find time to go back and format the minutes at a later stage.  Really inefficient. I should be able to publish minutes at the end of the meeting in a readable format.

This is absurd that you don't consider this a basic editing feature.  Hitting tab should first move text/indent, not move focus.  I'll want to indent text a hell of a lot more times than I'll want to save pages.  Come on Atlassian, turn your intuition on ... current behaviour is NOT intuitive.

Also, "limited demand"?  What a crock.  Why should anyone clamour for basic editing features like this?  That is the qunitessential definition of a cop-out.  More likely people appreciate your focus is on fancy features for attracting more revenue/signups, not serving your existing customers after sign up ....
