As a user, I want to be able to use my browser's search on a page to find results within collapsed macros. Affected macros include the Expand and Code Block macros.

[CONFSERVER-37259] Ability to search within collapsed macros

We have worked around this issue by creating an "expand all" user macro.

I have found the code here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/How-to-create-an-quot-Expand-All-quot-button-for-Confluence/qaq-p/294206

Seven years and no solution? That's disappointing. To cover the related issues, here, I would say that what users are EXPECTING is to be able to:

            • Search the page (as this Story states)
            • Expand all collapsed Expand and UI Expand macros on the page. Not necessarily related to Search. For example, users want to expand all as a prep before printing the page to printer or PDF (and the option to Expand All for the Export to PDF feature needs to be addressed).

This would be very helpful! Or a native "Expand All" macro would do the trick!

Our users cry that Confluence search doesn't work. They are trying to search terms used in collapsed expand areas and it doesn't work.

This is very inconvenient and also kind of gives impression that it just "Doesn't work".

Are we expected to create some kind of "Collapsed areas terms index" matrix when having extended documentation on single pages.

Would it be possible to at least verify after two years ?

@Atlassian: Could you please explain why this doesn't work and or what is your excuse for this design withheld for years ?

            Thank you,
