Would like the option in the UI to customize the subject line of email notifications. Specifically, the use case:

I would like to remove the Space name from the Subject line of email notifying users about new Blog posts.

For example, a Blog post about a release is sent out with this Subject:
"[ XX ] Project Management > Android release"

Really I just want people to see the Blog title in the email
      "Android release".

Alternately, the Space could be appended after the title:
"Android release - [ XX ] Project Management"

Often users only see the first few words of the subject in their Email client. They tend to skip something that looks like yet another auto-notification.

Currently, the only options to achieve this are:

The short answer is that you will need to customize the source code of Confluence in order to do this for every email sent from Confluence, so some familiarity with Java programming would be required.
The question I linked to also provides an alternative solution, where the SMTP server that Confluence sends messages through can be configured to change the outgoing mail messages from Confluence.

I was looking for this because I don't have the time to check confluence notifications every day. I wish I could look at the "Page commented notif" first before all others notif. I created an email filter rule for that, but it could be cool to have some indication in the email subject about the notification nature: page modified, added, deleted, commented, etc ...

Just a note that this is a moderate issue for our end users, especially when we have space names which span more than 15 characters. For those users, they are unable to see what page changed on the subject line unless they preview or open the email. For managers who span multiple projects/spaces, this is particularly inefficient for them.
