Since the update to Confluence 5.5.2 the included tomcat 7 server constantly uses 100% of the available cpu. However this only happens after approximately two days.
Only a restart of the Confluence Service or worst case - the whole server solves this issue. Then the cycle begins again.

I've included the most recent atlassian-confluence.log

[CONFSERVER-34032] Tomcat produces high CPU load

            Hi thomas.eitler

Thanks for taking the time to raise and comment on this issue. It's good to know that the immediate problem is resolved by updating the java heap memory. If you start seeing this problem again in the future you should consider opening a support request on https://support.atlassian.com. Doing this will mean a support engineer working with you to figure out exactly what is happening on your system. They'll also be able to help resolve these issues and raise any problems that occur with the Dev team.

I'm going to close this issue out as resolved locally for now.

            Regards

Since the last hang I updated the available Java Heap Memory to -Xmx1024m and this seems to solve the problem.

I just had to restart the Confluence service. Attached is the most recent atlassian.log

Thanks a lot shaffenden, I'm not sure if this is the same problem as we usually don't see CPU problems. It's often that EAC Tomcat runs out of http threads. I'll keep an eye on this issue though.
