NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

There are times that pages stay in draft mode after publishing. When the page is stuck it also doesn't allow you to discard your draft. The only solution we've found is that someone else goes into the page, makes a change, and then publishes it himself.

The following error message appears for some users as well:

We updated to the latest version of Zen, and so far we have not had the same issue. Will keep testing, but looks like the latest install of Zen has fixed the problem.
Will keep testing to see how we go.

We're experiencing the same issue , running 5.4.2 and Zen.

We've asked a few users who experienced the problem and this is one convo:

"I updated the ER banner yesterday. Sinead wanted it with a better pic so I went in, deleted the old banner and inserted the new image and went to save it and then it wouldn’t save to the new image. I logged out and in, and refreshed but it still had the same draft thing over the top of the page. This was one of the instances where I kept trying to publish, and reject the changes, and still the draft stayed up."

The main issue seems to be the following error message: "Nothing to publish: no draft was found."

            Hi Steve,

We're using version 5.4.2. I'm not too sure about the exact steps, it seems pretty random.

            Hi Derk

Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. Would you be able to confirm which version of Confluence you are using. Also would it be possible for you to list any steps that we can go through to reproduce this issue?

            Regards
