Sub numbered bullets turn into letters when creating page from imported MS word doc

      The import process translates sub numbered bullets into letters. Please see screen shots for examples of the document in word vs. Confluence.

      steps to reproduce

      1. Click 'tools' -> 'Import word document'
      2. Choose a word doc that contains a numbered bullet list with subsections (aka, 1, 1.1 -1.2). An example copy is attached for testing.
      3. Save the document
      4. Notice that 1.1 has been changed to A.

            Thank you for raising this issue. While we can see how this feature would be useful, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now. Thanks again for your idea.

            When lists in word get converted to lists in Confluence the output is a simple ordered list:

            <ol>
            <li>Item 1</li>
            <li>Item 2</li>
            <li>Item 3
            <ol>
            <li>Item 3.1</li>
            <li>Item 3.2</li>
            </ol>
            </li>
            </ol>

            This information is styled using Confluences styles for nested lists which is letter based rather than number based.

            I'm going to create an improvement request for this.
