Cannot open sidebar with shortcut or link when using Documentation theme with IE9

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Go to a page with IE9 in a space that is using Documentation theme
      2. Press '[' or click "Show or hide sidebar" button to hide the sidebar

      Expected behaviour:
Pressing '[' or clicking "Show or hide sidebar" button should show the sidebar.

      Actual behaviour:
      Nothing happens.

      Workaround:
Drag the sidebar open manually from the left side of the screen.

            Dear All,

Thanks for taking the time to raise and comment on this issue.
Unfortunately the Documentation theme is discontinued and removed in Confluence version 6.0.1. So we have decided to close this as won't fix

This is happening to us too, in all instances of Documentation Theme where the Navigation section contains too much content, and thus automatically gains scrollbars.

There have been several releases of Confluence since this bug was raised. Any idea on when or if there is a target release for a fix? A user just complained about the sidebar vanishing today; hence it's on my mind.

            Thanks.

IE9: Every time I click a link on the sidebar it closes. Sometime I can reopen with the '[', sometimes not.
            Chrome 29 is fine.

            Dear Atlassian,
I have almost 100 users who are restricted to IE. tick tock.

            Also occurs in Firefox 21.

Our company requires us to use IE9 as our default browser. So this issue is frustrating and counter-productive for many users.

I have also experienced this with Chrome on my Mac. Please note the problem also affects the double clicking of the sidebar to expand it.

It only started playing up about 3 weeks ago - I persisted with Chrome for a week before switching to Safari (making it my default browser) as the functionality works as expected.

Last week whilst demo'ing Confluence to some new areas in the company I switched to Chrome and for some reason the functionality was working again, therefore I switched back to Chrome and made it my default browser again. After a couple of days of it working ok, it is now not working again - no changes were made to Chrome in this time.

We are experiencing this same issue too. Given that almost half our users are using IE, this is a major issue.

The workaround works, but it is totally undiscoverable.

            Any news on a fix?

I have also experienced the same problem using IE9. Sometimes, I can show and hide sidebar, but eventually, show/hide option doesn't work. Workaround mentioned in description works for me.
I must say, it's a bug important for our colleagues.
Chrome (25) doesn't have that problem.

            Sounds good to me.
