HTML include macro alters footer size in documentation theme

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

When including a page with the html-include macro, that contains CSS (for example www.atlassian.com), Documentation theme footer size increases, covering half of the page.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. add a html-include macro on a page that is within a space with Documentation theme, source http://www.atlassian.com
      2. ensure that the whitelist allows connection to the specified URL
      3. check the results

      Workaround

      Use Adaptavist's iframe macro instead.

      Improvement Request

Stop the HTML macro being allowed to interfere with the core Confluence page structure

[CONFSERVER-26374] HTML include macro alters footer size in documentation theme

The HTML include macro literally includes the HTML source of the included page, which Confluence does. The resulting page can be distorted as a result.
The iframe option is probably the best way to go if you don't want the foreign content to interfere with the current page at all.

Moving this to be an Improvement Request, to stop HTML macro interfering with the core Confluence page structure.

            Kind regards,
