NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

I have setup an application link with JIRA 5.1.1 and Confluence 4.2.11 and linked up the user directory through embedded crowd.
In the User Directory menu, when manually clicking the Synchronise button for the embedded Crowd user directory, it displays a "Attempting to synchronise changes" but never prompts a "Completed" message, even after the process has been completed.

      2012-08-08 11:48:10,070 INFO [http-8090-3] [embedded.admin.list.DirectoriesController] sync User directory synchronisation requested: [ JIRA Server ], type: [ CROWD ]
      2012-08-08 11:48:10,085 INFO [scheduler_Worker-7] [atlassian.crowd.directory.DbCachingRemoteDirectory] synchroniseCache synchronisation for directory [ 1146881 ] starting
      2012-08-08 11:48:10,109 INFO [scheduler_Worker-7] [atlassian.crowd.directory.DbCachingRemoteDirectory] synchroniseCache INCREMENTAL synchronisation complete in [ 24ms ]

This appears to be because the component has not been ajaxified, and so does not update correctly until the page is refreshed. This happens on all versions of Confluence. Can we improve this at all?
