      Current tableplus implementations can't do that, but for a sorting coming out of Atlassian I would expect this. It's an everyday thing: a table of things with some states, written in emoticons (because it's simply more sexy that way). If it gets bigger I want to sort on the fields (status, tasks done, priority etc.)

            We regret to inform you that due to limited demand, we have no plans to implement it in the foreseeable future. In order to set expectations, we're closing this request now.             This would be really helpful and as the original poster mentions, make our tables look a lot sexier!

            Bonus feature: include the checkbox-widget as a sortable option.

            Another example someone raised was a page using 1-5 star emoticons to rate things in a table, and they wanted to be able to sort based on the number of stars.
