Unfortunately page layouts are not rendered in pdf. They are removed completely, so the content just goes on as it was in the next paragraph. (sad)

Will there be any solution to that?

I have tried the PDF export of a single page (on EAC, running Confluence 4.3-CDOG-1700) and had a similar result. I have not tried the space PDF export.

[CONFSERVER-25240] PDF export does not handle page layouts

sturla.holand Thanks for confirming this. Since it doesn't look like we can reopen existing issue (it's too generic and could confuse people who voted and waited for fix version) I've created https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-32441 to track this bug.

Could you please take a look and let us know if you are Okay with description?

            Cheers
            Petro

When I replace the PageTree macro with the Children macro, or somthing else, the export works fine.

And this is the same independent of page export or space export.

My trouble is that the solution with the pagetree macro, is much used as part of a template. But that's another story.

michael.s.simon thanks for pointing that out. Page export and space exports were created at different point of time and they do behave differently. I agree that this inconsistency is confusing but it's a bit costly to fix that and it's not on any teams backlogs as far as I know. My recommendation would be to open feature request with description 'PDF page export doesn't inherit space export settings' - just to make it more generic so more customers could find and upvote it. High upvoted issues are guaranteed to be fixed.

Also it looks like Ann already found workaround for you in https://support.atlassian.com/browse/CSP-116864. Please let us know if it suits you.

sturla.holand do you have problem with Page Tree macro only, or first column disappear with any kind of data in it?

@psemeniuk see case CONF-32274. My big concern/confusion is why space export and page export would operate with different processes. The only difference should be the number of pages that can be exported at one time. Not have different code for PDF generation. Not only does it confuse customers its more code for Atlassian to maintain.

            Editor screenshoot.
This two-column page is not correctly exported to pdf.

I've tried Confluence 4.3.2 and 5.4, with the same result.
The first column, containing only a Page Tree macro, is simply skipped (not showing in the pdf).

michael.s.simon Sorry to hear that you still have issue with pdf export. We tested export to pdf with page layouts which contained tables, emoticons, special symbols, status icons, images, plenty of other macros and surely text.

Could you please provide more details on page which you are trying to export and still experiencing issue?

I'm on 5.3.4 and have export to PDF problems. Was this "fix" ever put into 5.3.4?
