view ppt macro breaks image when specifying start page of 0 explicitly

    • Icon: Bug Bug
    • Resolution: Won't Fix
    • Icon: Low Low
    • None
    • 4.1.2, 4.1.4
    • None

      Steps to repro:

      1. create page and attach ppt or pptx
      2. add ppt macro
      3. specify 0 as slide start number
      4. Exhibited behavior (still in Insert ppt lightbox) is no static image avail (broken image icon) for slide 0
      5. When saving/previewing page, broken image icon shows.
      6. Any other slide number specified as start slide shows static image for that slide number.
      7. If start slide left blank, ppt player works as expected from first slide (0).

Verified this in 4.1.2 and 4.1.4.

I just finished an upgrade from Confluence 5.0.2 to 5.4.1, and this issue appears to have been resolved. I'm assuming this is directly related to the Confluence version, but maybe it is part of the Confluence Office Connector Add On which appears to be version 3.1.4 for me (but is system add on, so I assume all Confluence 5.4.1 versions would have that version of the add on).

The workaround is to put a blank slide first in your PPT, then specify start page of 1 instead of 0.

What is the very easy workaround for this problem?

I downgraded it to trivial because there is a very easy workaround for this problem.

I saw the downgrade to "Trivial" – I would like to point out that this worked just fine in Confluence 3.5. It broke with the 4.x upgrade.
