Agree with the above - I was so surprised to learn that this basic functionality doesn't exist in Confluence.

Also this issue definitely isn't resolved as that indicates you've actually fixed it which is not the case.

Comment [ [~Haffenden] could you please react to this? Or post a comment here with a task which is related to better table maintenance/cells deleting content?

            Thank you. ]

Very poor maintenance by Confluence. We went with them expecting much more functionality and the more we use the software the more we realise we are reverting to original source software ie, excel for greater control. This function however should be a must in its basic form. honestly do you expect us to delete cell by cell. C'mon Confluence!!!

WHAT? Please reopen. This is not acceptable behavior for large tables.

(Perhaps I'm getting confused. I am using Confluence 6.6.1, and in both Chrome and Firefox, I can select a block of cells but I cannot clear them; pressing the "delete" key only clears one row of cells.)

The need to manipulate the content of multiple cells (delete, text-formatting) is a quite frequently encountered use case for me.

Can someone explain why this issue is marked as 'wont fix'? Not enough people complained? Is there a work-around or another fix in place? Too costly to develop a solution?  Just saying 'Wont Fix' does not resolve the issue for those that want this functionality.
