We have found that Activity Streams can be very slow for activity requests that filter specifically for nearly any activity other than "Page added", "Page edited", or "Commented added". With our internal Confluence instances, page updates and comments are much more common than other kinds of activity. The current implementation does not take content type into account when searching for relevant activity items.
